A hydro-bath dog wash is a dog sized bath which has a hand held shower head. A pump sprays fresh warm water at a moderate pressure which penetrates through the dogs coat, not only washing thoroughly but also cleaning the skin and providing an invigorating massage. During the dog wash cycle, the water is pumped in a recycling manner before being drained and then fresh water being used to wash your dogs coat clean. At the start of the wash we add our special doggy shampoos, conditioners and flea rinse. Using the hydro-bath we will open the pores of your dogs skin, this will allow the removal of a lot of your dog’s dead skin and hair. The pressured water along with our flea rinse will help remove all fleas and parasites. A regular hydro-bath is an essential part of your dogs grooming needs. It will help maintain a clean and healthy skin and coat, also helping to maintain the wellbeing of your dog.

If you’ve seen your dog scooting across the room on his bottom, it could be a sign of anal sac disease.

Dogs have two small pouches on either side of their anus. They make a smelly, oily, brown fluid that dogs use to identify each other and mark their territory. It’s why they often sniff each other’s behinds.    

Anal sac disease begins as an uncomfortable impaction and can progress to an infection or abscess.

Normally, when a dog poops, the fluid in his anal sacs is squeezed out, too. It’s when they aren’t completely emptied that problems develop. The fluid inside can become so dry and thick that it plugs up the openings. This is called impaction.

Thankfully, impacted sacs are easy to treat. The glands can be gently emptied, or expressed. You may have to get this done on a regular basis.

Regular de-shedding will remove loose hair, reducing the amount that normally ends up on your carpet or couch. Your dog will feel better and look great once all that dead undercoat is removed.

Undercoat de-shedding includes- Warm hydro-bath,nail clipping, ear and eye cleaning, underbelly and paws  are tidied with clippers.

It is important to have your dogs nails trimmed regularly. This prevents nails turning under which is painful for your dog to walk on. Pad hair can also get caught and tangled in your dogs nails, this need to be maintained regularly to ensure your dog can walk comfortably. Regular nail trimming and care prevents splaying and splitting of nails. We can also file your dogs nails, which will help protect your furniture and floor boards and would also be a excellent option for a dog which is around small children.
